Enjoy historical sites along the way! Two ways to get there, both exactly the same distance:
1. Barrhead – Fort Assiniboine – Timeau (45 minute drive; Longer if you see moose, deer, or bears!) • Drive north on Highway 33. • Turn right and drive through the Hamlet of Fort Assiniboine (see St. John Vianney Church, the largest Wagon Wheel and Pick Axe, Fort Assiniboine Museum). • Continue up the hill on Highway 661 until you get to Rge Rd 53. • Turn right (first place on the right).
2. Barrhead – Neerlandia – Timeau (45 minute drive, depending on ferry crossing & animal sightings) • Drive north on Highway 769 through Neerlandia on the Klondike Ferry. (Cross the Athabasca River on the trail where gold seekers bundled necessities onto a wagon pulled by horses/oxen through thick brush to find gold!) • Just past the Klondike Cemetary, turn to your left (Look carefully to the next road to the right. That was the location of Klondike City!). • Rge Rd 53 is only a few miles straight down the Highway. • Turn left to the farm.
