October is the month of Rosary when we express our Devotion to Blessed Mother in a very special way. To mark the occasion, we will have Rosary, praying all the mysteries on Saturday, October 27 at 5:30 pm followed by the Mass.
Journey to Bethlehem is an annual event in Fort
Assiniboine. The hamlet is transformed into Bethlehem with
about 200 volunteers working to make it a true holiday
experience for visitors. Those who attend will see what it was
like walking the last mile into Bethlehem on the night Jesus
was born. The event is hosted by the Fort Assiniboine and
Friends Christian Community, but the Journey to Bethlehem
is a non-denominational event. Everyone is welcome. This is
an outdoor event, so please dress warmly.
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tours leave every 8-10
minutes from the Catholic Church
Admission: FREE (Donations will be accepted for the
To reinforce the significance of All Saints Day, Catechism
children will come dressed as their favorite saint (3:30 –
5:00pm). They win candy by completing games about various
saints in the church Hall. Families can participate in the fun.
Helpers are needed for setting up and managing game stations
and Hall clean-up. Please contact the Office if you can help. Join
us for a fun-filled activity honoring many saints!

Thanksgiving Food Drive,
on Saturday and Sunday October 6 & 7, 2018.
The Holiday Food Drive is a great way to bring in the holiday
season, and the proceeds help the Family and Community Support
Services (FCSS) to provide emergency food service to its
community food programs.
Instead of having a Windup Party we will be having a Fall
Start Up Party for the Youth Group the 1st week in
September after the long weekend and youth are back in
school. Either a slip and slide or paint ball eve with a
potluck campfire. Details and location to follow.
Feast of St. Anne

To celebrate the Feast of St. Anne the Novena will be said from July 13, Friday to July 21, Saturday.
There will be Holy Mass at the St. Anne’s everyday during the Novena days.

Enjoy historical sites along the way! Two ways to get there, both exactly the same distance:
1. Barrhead – Fort Assiniboine – Timeau (45 minute drive; Longer if you see moose, deer, or bears!) • Drive north on Highway 33. • Turn right and drive through the Hamlet of Fort Assiniboine (see St. John Vianney Church, the largest Wagon Wheel and Pick Axe, Fort Assiniboine Museum). • Continue up the hill on Highway 661 until you get to Rge Rd 53. • Turn right (first place on the right).
2. Barrhead – Neerlandia – Timeau (45 minute drive, depending on ferry crossing & animal sightings) • Drive north on Highway 769 through Neerlandia on the Klondike Ferry. (Cross the Athabasca River on the trail where gold seekers bundled necessities onto a wagon pulled by horses/oxen through thick brush to find gold!) • Just past the Klondike Cemetary, turn to your left (Look carefully to the next road to the right. That was the location of Klondike City!). • Rge Rd 53 is only a few miles straight down the Highway. • Turn left to the farm.
